Volunteer / Engage

Welcome!

  • If you are interested in becoming more acquainted with PSR, we offer volunteer opportunities such as assisting with special events or direct mailings.
  • If you have expertise in writing, photography, or policy research, we may have a project for you.
  • If you are a PSR member looking to become more actively engaged, join a committee and work on specific projects.

To join our efforts, please contact info@sfbaypsr.org.

Join Committees

All PSR members are invited to join our local-chapter committees and engage in a variety of advocacy projects.

NUCLEAR WEAPONS ABOLITION COMMITTEE, SF BAY PSR

NWA committee members are health professionals and others working locally to influence public awareness, civic engagement, and national policy via California Members of Congress toward a nuclear-weapons-free world. Toward the latter, we endorse the Back from the Brink campaign and its policy platforms.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH COMMITTEE, SF BAY PSR

EH committee members continue to work energetically during the pandemic on wide-ranging collaborative efforts to engage health professional students and institutions to address the unceasing threats of our climate to our health.

Teach / Mentor

Connect with PSR members who are deeply invested in educating medical and other health professionals on our issues through curriculum development, elective courses, presentations, student projects supervision, and student-led events at medical schools. We’ve also launched a new student internship to mentor and train young health professionals in leadership and policy advocacy. Click here to learn more about our education efforts.

Speakers Bureau

Do you enjoy speaking about environmental health and justice or nuclear abolition topics? Maybe you have a lecture or talk already prepared that you could modify for a different audience? If yes, then please sign up for our Speakers Bureau. We are building our list of health professionals who are ready and willing to give presentations as SF Bay PSR webinars, or to policy maker, community, and professional groups. Help us to amplify health professionals’ voices and influence today’s difficult policy decisions.

To join any of our efforts, please contact info@sfbaypsr.org.
